SPLINTERED duo to appear at Indieclub.tv event
Not A Number’s very own Simeon Halligan and Rachel Richardson Jones will be making a special appearance to talk about raising the finance for and releasing the company’s flagship production SPLINTERED this month.
The masterclass indie club will take place on 17th June at 6.30pm in The Circle Club and the details of the event can be found as part of indieclub.tv’s latest release below:
Meeting on 17th June @ 6.30pm
Sim Halligan and Rachel Richardson-Jones from the Manchester based indie Not A Number (www.notanumber.co.uk) have raised the finance and made their first feature film, called Splintered which is being released into cinemas next month. Sneak a preview of their movie on the link below then come and find out how they did it at this masterclass indie club on 17th June at 6.30pm in The Circle Club. www.splinteredthemovie.com
Drinks for the night will be paid for by Stockport based indie Acrobat as they’re keen to introduce us to Shotstore. If you’ve moved to HD recently (as we have) – or are about to make the big jump – then you can also find out about this fantastic new digital library system which Acrobat has developed. David Hill, Director of Acrobat will be coming along on the 17th June to tell everyone about how this Shotstore works – what it can offer your company – and what it costs – and he’s also sponsoring the evening by buying the drinks.
Indie Club Summer Party:
The indie club summer party – and final event until September – will be on 12th July at 6.30pm when extreme sport Director of Photography Leo Dickinson will be speaking about filming adventure sports all over the world – see www.adventurearchive.com. Leo’s many films have won awards and attracted large audiences, so put the date in your diary so you don’t miss out on what promises to be another fascinating meeting. Drinks will be paid for by Mitcorp.
XM25 Applications’ Deadline (I really recommend this scheme – it’s excellent):
The 2010/11 XM25 networking scheme will be closing for applications tomorrow 4th June at 5pm. Companies currently on the scheme (like ours) can’t apply but those who did it the year before, in 2008/09 can do. Part of a package of measures to sustain a strong and vibrant production sector outside London, XM25 gives the creative heads of twenty-five independent production companies in-depth access to BBC commissioning in Factual and Entertainment. This will be the third year running the scheme, which takes the form of sessions held in London and other centres between September to June. For more information and an application form is available at: www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/xm25/
Another Important TV Event:
Vision+Media are running a Comedy event that Stuart Cosgrove from Channel 4 has agreed to host, and the following comedy commissioners will be in attendance: Jon Rolph (BBC), Nerys Evans (C4), Michaella Hennesy-Vass (ITV), Steve North (Dave), Pete Thornton (Comedy Central), Lucy Lumsden (Sky).
The event will be held at Vision+Media’s Salford office in the afternoon of Wednesday 16th June. Registration (and lunch) opens at 1pm, and from 2pm Stuart Cosgrove will speak from his Nations and Regions role perspective before introducing the panel of speakers above, each of whom will communicate their forthcoming commission plans to the forum, followed by a number of smaller breakout sessions with the commissioners and ending with networking drinks around 5pm.
Tickets are £25, and you will be invoiced after the event. Please follow this link to register for this excellent opportunity:
